Video Snapshots
We created this page to provide a home for what we are calling Video Snapshots. While we often will share our travel stories via Facebook or in person, sometimes we want to give folks who aren’t on social media or don’t live near us a look at where we have been. Also, when talking with friends and family about their upcoming travels, we share what we know about a city or an area. With Video Snapshots we can visually share our own experience and give upcoming visitors a sense of what awaits them. In addition, we’ll post some of our more interesting video clips. Just for the fun.
Galapagos Islands & Quito Ecuador, 2022
The trip to the Galapagos was a “wish list” trip — something we talked about for years; planned to go twice but Covid got in the way. We spent two weeks touring the islands via a cruise ship called the Flora. Before we went to the islands we stopped in Quito for a couple of days. In addition to the usual “city tour” we did a private tour to the Cotopaxi National Park. The volcano in the park is about 15,000 feet above sea level. Here are some highlights, still photos and videos.
Barcelona, 2015 and 2014
We visited Barcelona twice. In 2014 and 2015. This snapshot shows several of Barcelona’s highlights including the Basilica of the Holy Family, church designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. We also visited Gaudí’s Park Güell and the city’s gothic cathedral. And since we love visiting markets, we went to the Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria, often simply referred to as La Boqueria, is a large public market. We went during both visits.
